Jaye Brown is an artist whose mission in life is to serve the Body of Christ. From the beginning of his career, he’s had the desire to write songs that will encourage, challenge, and transform believer as well as non-believers. Brown’s love and dedication to music ministry stems from a family legacy which started more than four decades ago when his great-uncle, James Lenox, wrote the legendary song, “I wont complain”. Years later Jaye’s uncle, “Kelvin” Lenox wrote gospel hits such as “Nobody like Jesus” for Walter Hawkins, and “The Comforter” with Melonie Daniels. “Being brought up in a family who truly loves God and has been blessed to do so much in the gospel music industry has had a huge impact on my life”, say Brown. I believe that God will use those HE trusts and are connected to as a way to introduce and connect us to him, the ones he will use in the future”. For almost 5 years Brown has been fully committed to just that, being completely used by God in music ministry. The journey began in front of thousands of viewers across the country as Brown competed as a “top 3 Finalist” on the hit TLN (Total Living netwrok) show, “Inspiration Sensation”. Being mentored by Donald Lawrece, and other well known musicians. It became a gateway to the music industry.
In 2010, the release of Brown’s debut single,”Alright” became the launching point for his solo career. With a positive response from the industry and music lovers alike, Jaye was presented with several amazing opportunites that would continue to elevate and expose him and his ministry to the world. The summer of 2011 brought along the opportunity to open for Karew recording artist Kierra Sheard, and also a featured spot in several highly ancticipated promotional tours. Recently, Brown’s gifting garnered him a featured role in Regina Taylor’s “Crowns” musical/stage play at Chicago’s legendary Goodman Theatre. “Working with some of the worlds greatest stage actress’s and actors, such as Felicia Fields, (who was “Ms. Sophia” in the Color Purple on Broadway) and Pauletta Washington, (whose film credits include: Denzel washington, Melba Moore, and Oprah Winfrey) was an amazing experience. It sparked the desire to further my career in theatre”, says Brown. The long awaited release of Jaye’s single, WITHSTAND, offers a fresh mix of european vocal stylings, fused with a transparent christian message that will penetrate hearts throughout the world.
