Off on another Mini-Roadtrip, traveling outside the comfort area for LaGeeGee that is the Tri-state area, some odd 180 miles later and we find ourselves in Baltimore Maryland. Off the turnpikes, over bridges, through tunnels and tolls that caused screaming in the car every time paid we found our final destination. We were on the trail to figure out what makes this city move, causing a distinguished L3gaci.
Baltimore, also know as the “City of neighborhoods” shows how diverse this city can be. With over 300 districts, 9 regions and 3 down town hot spots, Inner City Harbor, Fells Points and Little Italy, it sure was hard to choose exactly where to get started. With limited time and so much to do we made this trip about the Down Town Inner city Harbor. “Harbor Place”

Being an active harbor for 30 years, this area was once historic for being the nations second largest port turned over recent years into a shopping district. With architecture coming from each era, shopping malls erected to look like ships and battle ships to play on with so much more, Baltimore is already easily made into a defined L3gaci.
What makes it more?
After driving 180 miles I was starving. In the Inner City Harbor, a metropolitan area, finding a unique dining establishment is quiet the task. A melting pot of sorts, weaving through name brand restauraunts making my mouth water, led us to the Potbelly Sandwich Works. Started in 1977 as an antique shop, named conveniently after an antique stove used in cooking pigs, the shop slowly gained momentum and now is in eleven states. Once using the food to drive vintage sales, the menu has taken over these shops. Seeming to hail from the DC area with its popularity in the area, the Potbelly Sandwich Works did in fact come from the Chicago area, none the less full filled its name by giving us a pot belly after eating.
Upon entering the shop one can still feel the remnants of the original antique shop concept. With vintage artifacts of baseball figurines, air planes and the building fixture itself, Chicago and heritage emulates from the surrounding. After a quick minute of figuring out the menu, which can be a bit to handle from all the options, although still having questions the quirky staff is sure to answer and give your ear a good working, they know their stuff. Seeing them cook and prepare your order right in front of you, simple yet mouth-watering we couldn’t wait to get a bite. Wether one, like me, opted for the “skinny” sandwich or a filing classic barely able to hold in the contents, the taste of these sandwiches still lingers on our taste buds.
From the style of service to the decor itself, Potbelly Sandwich Works truly takes a firm place in the Baltimore setting. In a city where a L3gaci is already formed this shop fits right in with an established L3gaci.

Not being able to stick around for the night life, we had to leave the Harbor area with still much exploring to do. With an ever changing city, yet set in its way still to thrive for so many years, one can see in seconds what makes a defined L3gaci here. Being featured in video games such as the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series to being able to play on the living streets in battle ships. Having a rich culture of architecture to create some of the most eye-catching shopping plazas to grace our feet and a heritage seen in the pride from monuments honoring legends claiming the famed city their home. Treading back to our car walking the cobble stone paved on the battle front of revolutionary times, under the shade of sky scrapers erected showing modernisation hitting the city. We will soon be making our way back to Baltimore Maryland, a Defined L3gaci.
