The Little Things

No matter how far we have come, we can not forget all the steps we took to get there. With all the pieces coming together it wasn’t simple. A lot of work, research, thought, and process to bring it all together. “coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, and working together is success.” Something to remember when continuing our journey. Then, when times get tough take a step back and let it all sink in. Remember the little things one may have forgotten on the way, the little things taken for granted, take a step back and breath, look at the big picture and let it all fall into place. With time we will all find our L3gaci. We started our journey, regrouping when needed and remember what’s brining us there, and working towards a common goal. We’re forming our L3gaci, are you?

When a believing person prays great things happen.

Our title is a passage from the bible, James 5:16. It’s as straight forward as it sounds, simply believing in something, putting your faith in it, taking a proactive approach to ideas and concepts and putting all the positive energy and praying, can and will make anything happen. That’s exactly how old and new L3gaci’s are being formed and maintained.
At the start of any new business adventure, it’s going to be tough. One has to hustle, for man will try to see you falter and fail. Try to change your ways, make you doubt your personal efforts. To then over come these obstacles one needs to have faith. That un dying belief that anything is possible.
Over here at L3gaci, we have undoubtedly have been tested, questioned why pursue something so difficult to obtain, especially in these “harsh economic times”. It’s easy to answer, if life was easy, what would make it worth living for? Time and time again we have always told our readers it’s about the process, enjoying the process, and forming L3gaci we have had set backs, things to slow us down and try to make us question if it’s even worth it. To make it through, all one needs is a little bit of faith in what there doing.
Yes to hang on to that faith and belief that what ones doing will pan out positively is hard to maintain, however in those rough patches, take a step back, relax, enjoy the process, regroup ones thoughts then proceed. Apply it to any aspect of your life, for when a situation evokes negative emotions, your being tested to make it past them. Have the faith, believe in your self, enjoy the process, for what is meant to happen will happen. For, “When a believing person prays great things happen.” Here with L3gaci we have all the faith in the world, were shaping our culture around us and are in the works of forming our L3gaci. Are you?

Provincetown, Massachusetts “P town” (02657)

Over the Memorial day weekend, we were invited up to Provincetown, Massachusetts. Located on the tip of Cape Cod, a well miles way, hour long drive, and for cost of gas. This small town, known for its beaches, shops, culture, and known as a “gay village” we jumped at the chance to see new cultures see what made this town a L3gaci.
Waking up at 4am, leaving late by 5:30am, we started our treck to “P-town”. Crossing over states, playing stupid driving games, and praying not to get lost, we finally made it. Greeted by this small town, we wondered how some where so breathtaking, and quiet, could live up to the party town hype it has achived. Before we could discover this known L3gaci’s hidden treasures, we setteled into one of the many beach front properties avaliable to rent in “P town”. Private beach, hot tub, deck, grill, and plenty room to tan, our house was stunning.
A party house indeed, that is what we did. Going out and hosting parties is what we did on our six day break. Invited up on “Ladies Weekend”, this small town had everything inticing for us to expereince. From beach parties to tea parties, every day was an event. Wether you were on a cruise docked on one of the many harbors, networking with hundereds of individuals or having a few beers and kicking back at one of the many pool parties on “the strip”, we never ran out of things to do.
However on this insight in “Ptown”, we will show you the more relaxing time we had, with the night life and party scene soon to follow. This town offered many shops and venus to partake in. Every place eager to entertain groups of tourist, one could find a smile every corner turned, looking to show why this town is a L3GACI. Eager to show you the rest, slowly but surely we will bring every detail from stunning dinners, pool parties, and of course oil wrestling. So stay tuned for the long awaited P-town.

Hello L3gaci fans.
Over on the north east, with L3gaci just In the works it must be crazy to read an article called hiatus. However, typing this makes me realize I need to purchase the wifi keyboard for my iPad. L3gaci makes me realize a few things, mostly, it is all about the process, taking your time and enjoying every moment. Also, discovery; finding ones true passion and perusing it, whether it be Charles L3gaci’s initial creator, to our followers such as Utmost, who are following their own passion, the number of people, family willing to help see our dreams take off, sewing the merchandise to making it officially legal. To me, Lageegee, writing my heart out. We are all apart of something bigger. To come together with different muses, to network a dream. Is truly inspiring. Yes, we may have been away from typing, but however, have not ceased to stop working. With so much more then simple words, the process is daunting. From simple phone lines, to merchandising, promoting, though we may not be typing, as long as the heart and mind can still speak it, the process is moving. To achieve a tangible product of who we are, what we can create together would be a beautiful sight to see. So with apologies to fans who would like to know more, I personally, along with the rest of our dedicated crew, we will bring you more, like promised in the past, of what truly a L3gaci is, in short ending our “blogging hiatus”.

NYC. The Bowery Presents. Terminal 5.

A place where legends have graced the stage, continuing our search for
L3gaci’s new and old our train stopped at Terminal 5.  Only a short distance from Columbus circle, located in midtown Manhattan.  Terminal 5 has been hosting a stage for performers to come for many years.  Hosting parties as well we came on a night to see  three bands put on a show, Paperroute, Lights and Owl City.
With three floors, over 5 bars, many couches to sit on, and many spaces to dance this club offers it all to enjoy a good show. Never knowing what is to happen, we arrive an hour early for the show, milling about trying to find a good spot to watch the show exploring all three floors, we run into none other than Kelly Cutrone and Whitney Porter.  Porter, featured on the tv show ‘The Hills’ and now having her own show ‘The City’,  in addition also designing her own fashion line.  Cutrone, working for People’s Revolution, was featured on “The Hills” and currently makes cameos on “The City”. She has her own show, “Kell on Earth” and the author of the novel, now on the best time seller list, “If You Have to Cry, Go Outside”.   Only able to photograph with Kelly Cutrone, we got to talk to her for a few moments. Still freshly excited about her book she’s eager to see what else is out there, and encouraged us on the process of making our own L3gaci.  Traveling a lot she sees culture all around her, one can Follow her on her Facebook page or on twitter @peoplesrev to see her own L3gaci.
After our brief encounter we made our way back down to the main floor, already crowed with eager fans to watch the night’s performance, we found a place near the sound booth to take snap shots of our experience. Paperroute was the first to make it to the stage.  One of my personal favorite bands, hails from Nashville, Tennessee. Already going on tour with Paramore and She Wants Revenge, not to mention many shows around their hometown, even making it to Maxwell’s Bar and restaurant in Hoboken, they’re a new L3gaci to keep one’s eye on.  Formed only a few short years ago in 2004 as an Indie Rock band creating a sound like no other.  Making its way to be featured as one of the “10 artist to watch in 2010” via shred news, they have been making head lines.  Pressing to headline their own tour after a second major album release coming up this year or early 2011 stated via twitter @paperroute.  Always moving the crowd, in a way having their lyrics captivate your body to bring you into the music, they always put on a show. Whether using drums, programming, harmonicas, or one of the many musical instruments they have on the stage they always evoke their own feelings into the performance.  Off the stage they are just as charismatic as their  music, always willing to sign posters, cds, or ticket stubs, and taking pictures with many of the bands. Lageegee has met and spoken with the bands a few times.  Each time just as interesting as the rest they always give a moment for their fans.  They are paving their own way to a L3gaci of their own.

Pictured with JT Daly (vocals, keyboard, percussion) from Paperroute.

Lights, was the next band to open up the show. Coming from Canada, is Valerie Anne Poxleitner performing electro pop has been making waves on the music scene for a few years now.  Writing music since she was eleven however only starting with Sony/Atv music publishing in 2008, just like Paperroute being  one of Shred News’s ’10 Artists to Watch in 201o’.  Performing all over Canada, the United States and United Kingdom, she made it to Warp tour and SXSW last year.  Taking the stage head on or moving around with piano around her neck, she put on a show.  Having Kelly Cutrone and Whitney Porter out to see her, everyone was moving to her music.  Almost seeming as it belong in the Eighty’s, Terminal Five kept giving us artist to make us dance.  Turley she is making a L3gaci of her own.

Finally the main event hit the stage, with dimmed lights an owl came out onto the stage to perform.  Followed by a violinist, cellist, two key board players, drummer, and a lead guitarist/vocalist this band has it all.  Seeming in a short time to gain a monumental fame.  Only in 2009 releasing a hit single all over the air waves known as Fire Flies, this band is now headling its own tours in 2010.  Gaining popularity virally in 2007 and signing with Universal Republic they gained a L3gaci in a blink.  Still fresh onto the music scene, one can see why they are so captivating.  With a stage presence like no other, utilizing every inch to have their own dance party on stage.  By the end, the entire crowd was chanting “One more Song’ .  Seeming to have command of many years, this young band is well on its way to its own musical L3gaci.
The lights finally rising on the stage, Leaving us to exit with the rest of the crowd. We stopped a moment at the merch table and met with Paperroute.  Taking some pictures, we left the dance hall.  With years of history, this night showed us new, fresh talent on the music scene.  All with the hopes of making their own L3gaci and meeting characters already distinguished, we left with high hopes and walked way from this L3gaci, hoping to see a show soon again.

Hoboken, New Jersey (07030)

Continuing our search for defined L3gaci’s we came to our first New Jersey venture, Hoboken, New Jersey.

Deemed the “Mile Square City”, stretching to over two miles for exploring has been an evolving piece of land since founded.  Once a working mans town, seen as a cheaper place to live that the near by New York City, Hoboken in the late 80’s felt the change of culture. From into a more culturally sound place to live than before, Hoboken transformed as the place to live.  Calling home to many new restaurants, boutiques, and new condominiums, Hoboken was well on its way to becoming an upscale environment.  Going there today one can see just that.  Home to Stevens University, Maxwell’s, The new W hotel, skate parks, The Melting Pot and so much more Hoboken offers some true inspiration for things to do.

Walking along a mixutre of paved road and cobble stone, we set a path on the ins and outs of this city to see what makes it a defined L3gaci.  From its well know history, currently celebrating over 150 years of being an established city, to its current up and coming shops. Hoboken has already proven itself a L3gaci, and we were sure to find out.
With one of its only draw backs, traffic, we easily made our way to the ‘hub’ of Hoboken.  Finding parking in one of the many lots or along side streets can either be costly or annoying, however is worth the stress.  One thing your soon to learn on our adventures is, I love food.  We set to find one of the many choices one can have in Hoboken and we found The Energy Kitchen.

With a few locations throughout New York City and this location in Hoboken, The Energy Kitchen has made its way through the stomachs of health enthusiast throughout the area. Only serving items under 500 calories that are still appeasing to the taste buds, is sure to make a statement.  Just entering the store alone, from the Stainless steal finishing using sharp colors and accents that ‘scream’  fresh  can give one a hint of what they are about to consume.  Biting down on one of these affordable salads, wraps, sandwiches or even a filling shake, can really give one a sense what this shop is all about.  Taking my first bite in my chicken wrap and finishing it with a very berry shake, I could taste just what this shop was all about.  Fresh affordable, healthy and fast service for one of the many on the consumers that calls Hoboken its home.  The Energy Kitchen is an addition to one of the many up and coming features in Hoboken that adds to the defined L3gaci.
Say you’re a fan though of something a little bit sweeter. Your taste buds lingering for a piece of sugar.  One wouldn’t have to walk far to discover where to get a bite to cure ones sweet tooth.  We walked to Crumbs Bake Shop for the answer.

Opening in its Hoboken location only in 2003 along with its first shop in New york  this growing company has worked its way into the hearts of not only Hoboken but the surrounding area.  Having customers come from the neighboring towns only to get a bite of these tiny morsels. Their mission statement is to Celebrate the little things in life, making the cupcake the exception in a world where we move too fast, making maybe what we really do need is just to be reminded that the best things are simple and easy.  With that they easily accomplish this task having an array of over 50 cupcakes freshly made in the shop each day, with fillings or with out the options are endless.  With a friendly staff that eager to help new customers and answer any and all questions eating here is as simple as they strive it to be.  Also offering an option to deliver, place an order in the shop or online and for any or no reason at all one can have the comfort food to slow down a hectic day.  Make sure you grab a cup of milk or coffee to scarf down these delicious delights,  don’t worry though if you can not finish,  I had mine wrapped up to take home and hide from my roommates for a late night snack.  The Crumb Bake Shop found its way into my stomach and heart, giving me that comfort food after a long day.  Settling into the back drop of Hoboken to give a freshly baked touch to this defined L3gaci.
After filling our stomachs with more than what they can handle, walking around Hoboken is a good way to shake off any ‘bloated’ feelings.  With many shops, art galleries, and walk ways to please the eye, Hoboken transitions into a town to spend the entire day in.  With a night life that’s a L3gaci in its own we found some good places to call it a night with.

Traveling to Hoboken the three L3gaci’s we find that if one goes to Hoboken you can not miss are the newly opened Lana Lounge, Benny Tudinos Pizza and the Famous Maxwell’s Bar and Restaurant.  Giving options for the every type of individual coming to Hoboken these spots are one of a kind.  First on our list is Lana Lounge, opening only a few years ago is a place to let you body do the talking.  Locals and people coming from the tri state area make  it a point to go to Lana Lounge at least one in their clubbing life time.  Attracting attention from radio stations, artists and performers this lounge is making its way on the map.  Consisting of 3 floors to dance on, 2 dj’s to give an entirely different feel depending where you are, 6 bar areas to start the night with more opening along the way this club has it all.  Opening starting thursdays through the weekend one can feel a different club every night.  With latin, reggaton, r  & b, hip hop, top 40, pop, mash-ups and house just to start off a night here your guaranteed to not stop moving till the 2 am closing doors.  Located right on river street,  ear the path train station, don’t worry about missing these doors, with a long line forming early to access into this club is easy to spot. Moving its way into the club culture to give a new taste from the more popular pubs of the more typical Hoboken style, Lana Lounge shows its way to keep the defined L3gaci on of it’s on.

Say you like the more traditional Hoboken bar, make a few turns and up the road on the main street of Washington will bring you to Maxwell’s bar and restaurunt.  Historic for being a Hoboken land mark this night-time hot spot as been making its way since 1978.

With family efforts after having the idea to turn this factory bar into more of a restauraunt, this bar has taken home to Hoboken for many years.  Coming to enjoy a drink, food, or music this place really does have it all.  Known for finding under ground and up and coming indie, pop, pop rock/alternative rock bands, come here and you may just be ale to meet the next big thing.  With a back room to show case these bands to a bar lining with pictures to see everyone that has come through Maxwell’s, this has been home to many, pictures dating back to show Bruce Springsteen, Blue Oyster Cult, The Ataris and Nirvana and even my favorite band Paperoute has been apart of the history.  Not as loud as a lounge one can come here to sit down, have a few drinks, relax after work or hear a band start its own L3gaci. Keeping updated with smaller rooms to sit private parties or sitting down in the side room to enjoy a meal away from the bar, or take a table near the bar and listen to the band that’s performing that night, it offers a little bit of something for everyone, sticking true to its original roots and giving that old style bar feel with small modern touches.  Turley making it self a defined L3gaci, giving others the chance to start out and gain exposure.  With friendly staff and affordable drink prices this Hoboken hot spot has paved its way for many to become a defined L3aci.
Hoboken truly has it all with an amazing Hang Over cure of Benny Tudino’s Pizza, open for over 40 years, serving the biggest slices only thought possible at the jersey shore, these slices need 3 plates to hold it together.

Open till 1 am and delivering, this pizzeria could not be located on a better spot.  Right on washington ave take a stroll down from all the clubs and try to get a last slice before closing time.  Sit down and enjoy a slice and a drink only costing $4.50, I couldn’t even finish my slice.  While eating chat along with the staff, making fun of each other and letting you in on the jokes, they keep you coming back for more.  Not just serving pizza, they have veal, pasta, chicken, subs, calzones and more.  Not just like any other pizza shop though, coming in here you can taste the quality and the pride in the slices. The heritage behind every bit of this shop.  Show cased on in the main entrance pictures of famous actors dress the wall. Also, come in early enough and Benny will be there making pizza and talking to first time customers eager to know a little bit more about this once of a kind shop.  Striving to fill their motto of “try the rest then have the best” they make their landmark in Hoboken, giving one of a kind style that only this city can find.  Making its presence known giving a mouth full in every bite this spot is sure to fill stomachs and leave a L3gaci behind with every consumer.

After spending the day into night in Hoboken we were filled with food, new sightings, and so many more idea to do on our next trip back.  Still needing to see the skate park, see the one of a kind clothing shops only offered here and enjoy more of the breath-taking landscape, we left the sky scrapers to our backs.  Having just started to enjoy this defined L3gaci, Hoboken offers more than just one trip to this city.  Exhausted from walking, dancing and eating we made our way to our cars and our beds.  Experiencing for ourselves what makes this defined L3gaci move.
